WORKSHOP INFORMATION

OVERVIEW

The Aspiring Leaders Program is designed for leaders who would like to improve their knowledge, skills and practices in leading school communities. The program draws on the latest evidence of visionary leadership and instructional leadership to build teacher capability and improve student outcomes. Throughout the
program, learning is consolidated through one-on-one coaching and highly professional and collegiate groups.

OBJECTIVES

The Aspiring Leaders Program will broaden your understanding and enable you to:

  • Build relationships and develop self through emotional intelligence

  • Lead change in your school to improve student outcomes

  • Lead learning through improvement- focused inquiry to positively impact the quality of teaching in your school

  • Develop your own powerful aligned mission statement reflecting clear vision and values

  • Employ ethical practices to foster integrity and an inclusive educational environment

  • Adapt your leadership style to suit context and audience

  • ​Sustain a positive learning culture

FEATURES

  • Six to Nine-month multi-modal program

  • 360-degree Survey, Report and 1 hour debrief

  • Combination of theory and practice

  • Reading and reflecting on key ‘think’ pieces

  • Discussions and activities with your facilitator and program participants in workshops

  • Development of a Leadership Action Plan

  • 1 hour leadership coaching session

  • Presentation of LAP (Leadership Action Plan) success

  • Collegiate networking

  • Aligned with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL)Australia

PROGRAM LEARNING INTENTIONS

Aspiring Middle Leaders, on completing this program, will have:

  • Strengthened their understanding of self and others while leading with high emotional intelligence

  • Become more skilled in Leading Learning through building culture, coaching and feedback 

  • Built their knowledge and skills in change and professional conversations to support teachers to build their capability

  • Developed knowledge to classify and build a high performing team to develop collective efficacy

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

LEADERSHIP 360 AND DEBRIEF

  • Undertaking a customised Leadership 360 survey 

  • A 1hr telephone debrief session with a qualified coach on participants 360° report

WORKSHOPS 

3 x one-day face-to-face workshops

This phase of the program will involve a range of learning experiences including: 

  • Leadership modules – Examples – Purpose, Vision and Values, Emotional Intelligence, Building and Leading with Trust, Professional Conversations, Leading Learning, Leading vs Managing, Giving and Receiving Feedback, High Preforming Teams, Building Wellbeing and Resilience.  

  • Leadership modules selected by the school if required.

  • Presentation of Leadership Action Plan at workshop 3

COACHING

  • 2 x 1 hour individual coaching session
